“Clint and I met 10 years ago at a classic Wellington flat party. After multiple hours of chats and just a few drinks we realised we were all in and moved in together just a few months later. It did however take until our 9th anniversary for the proposal. We went down to the Abel Tasman to get some sunshine and lo and behold it was a miserable rainy day. Luckily Clint had snuck out the night before to grab a nice bottle of bubbly so when we got to a cute stop point for a midday "liquid lunch" he popped the question, and his knee on the rock he knelt down on!”
“As we got down to planning the wedding we realised we didn't so much care about the traditional expectations but rather wanted to just celebrate us as a couple with as much fun and laughter as we could manage in a day. We spent a fair amount of time trying to find vendors that match our energy and we lucked out with every one of them, they all seemed as excited as us to try and create a relaxing environment and met us with every crazy idea we had.”
“We decided to just go with our favourite colours for the scheme rather than go with the usual options and Lyndal, our florist was able to combine blue and purple into an amazing solution that looked great together!. Our theme was relaxed and fun, with a rustic country garden vibe”.
“Prior to the ceremony we spent the day together instead of apart and jumped in a chopper. The weather absolutely turned it on for us, the antithesis of our proposal story and we flew up to Mt Alpha. The ground was still mostly covered in snow so we got the perfect mountain top pictures. Afterwards we flew down to the rivers edge for a picnic by ourselves before the craziness of the ceremony and reception. It is almost impossible to narrow down the best parts of the day, the biggest memories are the fun and laughter throughout the day.”

“Instead of a typical first dance we spent 3 months learning the choreography to a lightsaber battle that we surprised our guests with outside after dinner. Luckily it wasn't too cold, even in September, so that many of our guests enjoyed having a go with them afterwards.”
