RUBY RETRO

Ruby Retro – Makeup Artistry & Vintage Hairstyling is a qualified and experienced makeup artist, hairstylist, and photographer based in Upper Hutt, Wellington. Ruby Retro is fully mobile throughout the Wellington region and nationwide, and has a home based studio in Wallaceville.

Ruby Retro was awarded Outstanding Wedding Makeup Artist of the Year at the 2023 New Zealand Wedding Industry Awards, and is always striving to give her clients the very best experience. You can check out some of her reviews.

The artist behind Ruby Retro is Kristy Roulston. Kristy has worked on many weddings and events, and specialises in pinup and vintage inspired looks, as well as offering bespoke styles and current trends in hairstyling and makeup. She offers in depth trials/previews at her home studio, and will help you best prepare for your wedding day.

Kristy gained her qualifications in Fashion Makeup Artistry from WelTec back in 2017. Up-skilling and ongoing education is important to her, and she has since attended several masterclasses, learning from some of the best in the business, both from New Zealand and overseas.
